"We Can't do this alone"
Out of all the red letters of the Bible, none are more my favorite than Jesus' last words in Act 1:8. Addressing the apostles he says "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The very last thing that Jesus said to his disciples wasn't the detailed plan to restore Israel that they had expected. Also, don't forget that he had just conquered death, but instead of a victory speech Jesus tells his followers to literally spread the gospel across the entire earth!
It was not long afterward that we find the disciples in an upper room "joined together constantly in prayer". With a giant task laid before them, the disciples knew that they couldn't do it alone, they needed supernatural intercession. They had just received an overwhelming commission to go to the farthest corners of the planet, and their first response was prayer.
As Renew College Ministry we desire to see a great movement of God on the Arkansas Tech campus. Our mission is to renew the call to follow Christ on campus and into the world. We want to take the gospel to every corner of Arkansas Tech and make disciples of every student. That's a tall order for a campus with thousands of people! Just like the disciples, our response must be prayer. We can't do this alone. The mission is too big and the obstacles are too great to take on by ourselves. Thankfully our God is greater! Thankfully, also included in Acts 1:8 is a promise from Jesus that "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you". Thankfully, just like the disciples in that upper room, we can be in constant prayer together.
As we look to the coming school year, I am excited for what God is going to do through Renew and this prayer team. Here are a few things to be in prayer about:
Pray for a Healthy Fall
Obviously, the state of the pandemic largely impacts how we function as an organization. Currently there will be in person class this school year, but things like groups, events, and activities will be largely restricted and will operate very different than before.
Pray for an Exponential Movement of God
We can't renew the call to follow Christ if we don't call on God to move in the hearts of students!
Pray for Wisdom in our Leadership
College ministry in the midst of a global pandemic is new ground for everyone, let alone launching a new name! We simply need the wisdom to lead this ministry.
Thank you for your prayers and commitment to the Kingdom! Keep an eye out for future updates and prayer requests!

What's a Prayer Team?
Scripture tells us that the earliest Christians were devoted to prayer (Acts 2:42). Throughout history, people of faith have depended on prayer for strength and guidance. We want to have as many people as possible engaged in prayer for the work Renew is doing in Russellville.
