The first time I ever set foot outside of the United States was in Taipei, Taiwan to share the Gospel.
I love saying this and I wear the statement as a badge of honor. In 2010, decided to spend my summer doing a Let’s Start Talking (LST) mission project, teaching conversational English to people in Taipei using the book of Luke. What you don’t ever hear me say is that prior to signing up for the trip I had never even read the Gospel of Luke. In fact, I didn’t even know that Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were all Gospels that told the story of Jesus. But, there I was in Taipei, Taiwan, nineteen years old, feeling unqualified to share the Gospel that I had just recently learned myself. How could God use me? It turns out God did use me. He used me to plant seeds. It wasn’t that I had all the answers or knew the most about the Bible. It was simply that I was willing to go. I was willing to share the good news about Jesus Christ. So I ask you, are you willing? Would you consider going on an LST project to share the news about Jesus to people who have never heard it before? If so come to the CCSC tonight at 5:30 to learn how you could do something eternally significant with your summer.
